Privacy policy
Last updated: November 2026
Care Compass Pte. Ltd. (“Care Compass”, “we”, “us”) is a Singapore company (UEN [UEN]). We give healthcare travel guidance to people who want to receive care in China: guidance through our established hospital contacts, and help with the practical side of finding your way in China. We are not a healthcare provider.
This policy explains what personal data we collect through carecompasschina.com, why we use it, who handles it, how long we keep it and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
1. Information we collect
- What you write in our contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message
- Details sent with the form: the country your connection comes from (as reported by our hosting provider) and the time you sent it
- Emails you send us, for example to care@carecompasschina.com
- Website usage data, only if you accept cookies (see Section 8)
Health information: we do not ask for medical records or detailed health information — telling us the treatment you are looking for is enough. If your message includes health information, we keep and use it only because you agreed to this with the tick-box on our form. You bring your medical records to your hospital appointment; please do not send them to us by email.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to your inquiry and give you the guidance you ask for
- With your permission, to share the details needed with a hospital in China that suits your request
- To keep a backup copy of your inquiry, so it is not lost if an email fails
- To understand, in aggregate, how the website is used (only if you accept cookies)
- To meet our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your inquiry for marketing.
3. Who handles your information
A small number of service providers handle personal data for us, only to run the website and our email:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, the spam check on our contact form (Cloudflare Turnstile), the backup copy of inquiries, and forwarding of our @carecompasschina.com email addresses
- Resend — sends the inquiry to our inbox and your confirmation email
- Our business email provider — holds the emails in our inbox
- Google (Analytics) — only if you accept cookies; and Google Translate if you use the “Translate page” option
We also share your information:
- With a hospital in China — only with your permission, when you ask us to go ahead. The hospital then handles it under its own privacy policy and Chinese law.
- When the law requires it — for example, to respond to a lawful request from an authority
Travel affiliate disclosure: When you book hotels or flights through the curated links we send you, we may receive a small referral commission from travel partners (such as booking platforms). We never share your medical information with travel partners.
4. Transfers outside Singapore
Our service providers may process personal data outside Singapore, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. If you ask us to go ahead with a hospital, the details needed are sent to that hospital in China. We use providers that commit, in their published data-processing terms, to protecting the personal data they handle for us.
5. How long we keep it
We keep inquiries for 6 months and then delete them — both the backup copy and the emails in our inbox. If your request goes ahead, we keep what is needed to provide our service for as long as it is needed, and any records the law requires us to keep (for example, accounting records). Google Analytics keeps usage data for the period set in that service.
6. Security
Everything you send through this website travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only the people who handle inquiries can read them, and our providers handle data under their own security terms. Email is not end-to-end encrypted, which is one reason we ask you not to send medical records by email.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Give you access to the personal data we hold about you
- Correct personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your personal data (unless the law requires us to keep it)
- Stop using your data — you can withdraw your consent at any time; we then stop using it and delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it
Send your request to our Data Protection Officer (Section 12). We reply as soon as we reasonably can, normally within 30 days. You may also contact Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission. Visitors in the UK, the EU and California have the rights given by their local laws, to the extent those laws apply to us, including the right to complain to their local data protection authority.
8. Cookies & analytics
With your consent (via our cookie banner), this website loads Google Analytics 4, which uses cookies to give us aggregated reports on how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. We do not install advertising or remarketing tags. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes limited technical signals solely to prevent spam. We also use strictly essential storage for site functionality (for example, remembering your language and cookie-consent choice). If you use the "Translate page" option, the page text you view is sent to Google Translate for translation — the widget is loaded on demand only when you click it, and Google’s handling of that text is governed by Google’s privacy policy. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie choices” link at the bottom of every page.
9. If something goes wrong
If personal data we hold is lost or accessed without permission, we act straight away to contain it. Where the law requires — for example, when a breach is likely to cause you significant harm — we tell you and Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission.
10. Third-party links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, such as hospital websites, travel booking platforms, or medical resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
11. Children's privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
12. Contact us and data protection officer
For any question or request about your personal data, contact our Data Protection Officer:

13. Updates to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
